Sport - Rugby

Saint Mary’s has very successful teams playing Sevens, Tag and full contact Rugby. The girls have won Connacht cups at both junior and senior levels over the past number of years. Our senior team has qualified for the last two All Ireland blitzes and in April played at the Aviva Stadium in the latter stages of the competition.

Last years’ Leaving Certificate student Kayleigh Hopkins is a member of the Irish women’s senior team while another past pupil Naomi Cuffe plays in Munster. Several of the current school team represent their club and province on a regular basis.
