St. Mary's policy has always been to broaden the minds of students by encouraging them to experience different cultures. Over the years students have travelled to Belgium, Germany, Italy, Spain and England. This April, the transition year students will be spending four days in Barcelona and Salou where they can acquaint themselves with the history, the language, music and the arts of those countries. 2018 saw the students travel to Madrid and Toledo in Spain where they visited such famous sites as the Prado Museum, The Royal Palace and also enjoyed the historical world heritage city of Toledo.
The girls also tasted traditional Spanish cuisine and visited a local market. The coming tour to Spain will be cross curricular in that it relates to their Home Economics, History and Geography class. This year a trip to Vienna is planned for February and students are already planning their itinerary.
