Good evening,
In the interests of the health and safety of all members of our school community, St. Mary’s Secondary School will remain closed tomorrow, Tuesday, 9th December, following the Status Orange Wind Warning issued by Met Éireann for Storm Bram. This decision has been taken in consultation with the other post-primary schools in Ballina, all of which will also close due to the expected severe weather conditions.
The forecasted high winds pose a significant risk for travel and general safety, particularly during school commute times. Closing the school ensures that students, staff, and families are not placed in unnecessary danger during this period of adverse weather.
We encourage all parents, guardians, and students to continue to follow official Met Éireann updates and to exercise caution over the next 24 hours. School will reopen on Wednesday as normal, unless further guidance is issued.
Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.
Stay safe.
