Sport - Basketball

Saint Mary’s have a proud tradition in basketball stretching back over four decades. The school currently enters teams at First year, Second year, Under 16 and Under 19 grades.

During the 1990s the school tasted All Ireland glory under the guidance of our late colleague Helen Tighe. In 2018 and 2019, the school won back to back, first year and second year All-Ireland titles. As a result, the school now competes at the A grade. This team was awarded the 'Basketball Team of the Year 2019' by the Western People.
